Reimbursement from Ford for fuel pump replacement on returnless Cougar?

Good news to hear. I called once to a Ford dealer and they told me my 02 was not covered, a few years ago.

So BBF, all cougars are covered under failure of the fuel pump?

Hopefully you're friend get's all his money back.

Hi Tygerr. No, not all Cougars. According to the non-compliance letter which Ford filed with NHTSA on 8/26/04, only Cougars manufactured between 5/25/99 and 11/30/01.

Your Dealer may be correct. Check the build date of your Cougar, located on the door jamb sticker. If your '02 was manufactured after 11/30/01 (good chance of that), your fuel pump was already the updated model.
