99-00 vs. 01-02

Which do you like better...the 99-00 Cougars or the 01-02 Cougars?

My first Cougar was a 1999 2.5L MTX. My current Cougar is a 2001 2.5L MTX. I definitely like the new style better. I like the 01-02 front and rear bumpers much more than the older style. I also like the 01-02 gauge cluster better than the older style. The shift knob on the 01-02 Cougars is more appealing and the aluminum racing style pedals in the newer Cougars are much more appealing than the rubber ones in the older Cougars. The new center console is much better, no more cup spiller! Pretty much all of the changes from older to newer style I prefer.

i like the body features of the 99-00's but i like the interior from the 01-02's

They both have their features. I said the 01-02 because I personally like the lower front grille.

99-00 hands down. I almost waited for the '01s to come out because of the rumors of the Cougar S, but since the S got axed I'm glad I didn't wait. There wasn't a single change they made for '01 that I liked more than the '00 version.

99 hasnt given me problems, unlike the 01-02 fuel pumps!
and if you like the interior, just do what i did!

even though im driving a '99 i like the 01-02 a lil better, but thats nothing a couple upgrades couldnt fix ^_^

IMO, the 01/02 front and rear grilles were an effort to make the car more mainstream - toning down the new edge - much more conservative. Those lower grilles remind me of chevies :-|

IMO the 99-00 front bumper looks cheesy, trying too hard to be agreesive. And I also love the smooth 01 headlights.

the only thing i don't like about my 01 is the fact that a roush body kit won't fit it
