99-00 vs. 01-02

99. I like the 99 headlights more because they're more aggresive IMO. I just don't dig the shiny chrome bezel in the 01-02 headlights. I like the 99 front and rear bumpers better too. The 99 has two razorblade slits on the back bumper. The 01-02 doesnt have it. I even like the 99-00 grill better than the 01-02. The 01-02 had all the cool pacakges though, ZN, XR, and C2.

99-00 i like the front and rear bumpers, headlights

01-02 i like the interior, painted headlights and front grill (the one with the cougar emblem)

Completely stock I like the 99/00 Exterior, of course the 01/02 interior was much better then the 99/00. But I voted 01/02 for it's superior interior, and I love the way 01/02 look with springs and a WW bodykit. Oh, and 01/02 had some cool color choices the 99/00 did not have.

99/00 had Melina Blue and Autumn Orange. Those two colors alone make the "first-gen" Cougars VASTLY superior.

my 00 has the good cupholder :D its not really a 01-02 thing just a revision that came along.

I like the 99-00 because of the Roush kit but I do like the 01-02 black interior, leather xr seat, and the better console. Im still torn between the headlight situation I like both versions! I have seen some really nice 01-02 but I have an older one so 99-00 all the way!

Personally I think the 01/02 headlights give off much better light, and I like the chrome better, especially aussies. Also interior is better.

I think that the exterior comes down to color. I have an oxford white 99 and I like the bumpers much better than the 01/02's, however I had problems with the way mine looked also. The bottom looked like too much of a gap in a smiley face pattern, so I painted the fogs and put mesh in the grill, now it seems more solid. The darker color cougars don't have the same problem b/c there isn't so much contrast.

I don't think that either year is better. That is why so many people use parts from different years, however, I don't see too many people putting 99/00 headlights, seats, clusters, grills, ect in their 01/02s. 01/02 had many more options and models. I really think it depends on the overall color and look of the car to determine what headlights and bumpers look better. I feel that black seems to work well with everything. Silver I would have to go with 99/00. White 99/00. I am not sure of others.

I forgot about Autumn Orange, but Melina purple is a negative for the 99/00 IMO. I was thinking of Grabber Green, and French Blue(a really blue color) for the 01/02.
