return or returnless fuel rail?
The engine is too cramped and cluttered for me to tell for sure, so i want to get multiple and knowing opinions...
Which does a 1999 ATX 2.5L V6 (duratec) Return-style, or returnless fuel rail? |

Re: return or returnless fuel rail?
All you have to do is look under the throttle body and you will see the schrader valve (looks like a tire's valve cap)... that valve is on 1 of the fuel lines... IF there is another line behind it and parallel to it, then you have a RETURN style fuel system. IF there is only that 1 line with the Schrader Valve, then you have a RETURNLESS system...

Re: return or returnless fuel rail?
Easiest way is like aircougar1 said. Look to see if there is one fuel line or two.

Re: return or returnless fuel rail?
I've noticed a few other things as well, and perhaps you May kids (Skater and Wade) can verify.
As far as I have seen, return-style cars always have the little wire clip holding the fuse-box closed, while the returnless ones are just all plastic. Also, return-style cars always have a metal MAF housing, while the returnless models have black plastic ones. Can anyone prove otherwise?

Re: return or returnless fuel rail?
My return model has the metal wire clip on the fuse box. Not sure about the MAF housing, I'll have to take a look.
