The classic Fish and Chips shops all over england and ireland have nothing to cook with other than a really large deep fryer. Anyway theres alot of lore and legend that i forget but anyway some one wanted a desert.. so they tried battering and deep frying a mars bar. It caught on and in many shops over there you can get just about any candy bar deep fried.

fried candy bars aren't anything new, they show up at fairgrounds and different "fests" they have around here. Never tried it tho

Could be. There's a ton of names for fried potatoes, and nearly infinite ways to prepare them. People seem to mix and match the recipe with the name.

Its funny how soo much of the world uses potatoes.... one of the few real american foods. And yet things like corn are looked down on by most of europe ... appearnetly when european merchants wanted some corn to sell aboad, amercian farmers gave them feed corn because they didnt like them and wanted to screw them over
