on new cars they dont check exhaust, they plug in to the OBDII and read the levels from the 02 sensors. the car doesnt have 02 sensors, or an ERG

Around here i think they can go both ways. For the past whatever 5 or mor years they have been checking cars with the full exaust gas check combind with a dyno. But they are supposed to be changing over to just checking the obd2. But i think for cars where the O2s arent working they can still check it the standard way.

Or heck all you have to do is drive past a moble station twice withing a few months of your emisions being due and your golden

how do you figure a moble station will fix that?

i sent off a email to SDC to see if its the way the chip is burned to get around them. Thinking that the elimination of them by the chip isnt letting the scanner recognize the system and red flagging it

The mobile stations are sniffers that they set up on highway on ramps. If you drive through them close enough to your emissions testing requirement and they get passing results they send you a letter stating so. All you have to so is send in a check and you get your sticker. That's how the Cougar passed. Had I gone to a station and they'd seen my codes I would have fialed, but since they never pugged into the OBDII port I was fine.

The Mark VIII doesn't have OBDII, so they have to do the dyno test on it.

i wish it were that easy, id love them to put the sniffers in the car, it would prolly pass then, well maybe if i put the exhaust off of the atx that is

Ya Jason you literaly drive down an off ramp .. thats a moble station.... a guy with a minivan and this sensor thing, a camera for you plates and a few cones to keep things safe around him. No stoping no obd2 just drive past him...
