it is a fine line, my roommate [and also from my hometown] in college had an old cop car. it was an under cover car. they left the siren and the lights inside the grill.. only thing they pulled was the fuse.

I will tell you that around here, I KNOW the top mounted lights wouldnt fly. we have alot of guys in the area that collect vintage cop cars [probably because of blues brothers], and one thing I've noticed is very few of them have the lights on the cars... as if someone would mistake a cop car from the 30's for an active police man [but will have photos of it mounted with the car sitting in their garage]
