Re: The Undead Gateway Thread
Good deal. My bicycle trainer should be showing up this week. Now I won't have the excuse that the weather is crappy.

Re: The Undead Gateway Thread
ORLY?
I always assumed they made something like that... so where did you get it from, I would definitely be interested.

Re: The Undead Gateway Thread
I think it was Dicks or Sports Authority. I don't recall which one I ended up ordering from. Most bike shops should have them too, and there is always the internet. Prices vary greatly, from between $100-200 on the low end, up past $1000 for the nice high end stuff.
Mine showed up last night and I tried it out. I will say that knobby mountain bike tires really do make a lot of noise and vibration on the roller. I am seriously considering putting a road tire on the back for when I'm using it.

Re: The Undead Gateway Thread
If you guys are interested in losing weight or getting in better shape, I have a reading suggestion for you. The trainer I'm working with wrote a book that goes along with his program, it covers exercises that can absolutely be done at home with minimal additional equipment and also covers the necessary dietary changes. It also explains how cardio is not a very effective way to lose weight by itself.
I feel kind of like a dirty spammer, but I want to tell everyone about this book, because when I first read it, everything suddenly made perfect sense, at least to me.

Re: The Undead Gateway Thread
My main reason for getting the trainer was to get back into riding. I love riding, but my endurance has gotten pretty crappy, so my rides are frustratingly short (1-2 miles is a struggle). This should help me get back to a reasonable level (3 mile rides being easy again).

Re: The Undead Gateway Thread
Ah, gotcha. I'm hoping to get a bike around March or April when the weather gets nicer (and hopefully after I've taken a good chunk of weight off) so I can be outside, there's a nice bike trail that starts maybe a hundred yards from my front door.
