Ahh...yeah, that really sucks. Unless it is sticking out far enough to weld a nut on the end of it, you'll probably need to drop the subframe.

I might try welding on a nut but I'm going to have to take out the sub frame to do it. It's going to have to wait until next weekend though. Driving around this week is going to be fun.

why not just weld the bracket in place, make it so that the welds can be ground off easily. its not like its something that needs to come off all the time

If I had a welder at my house I would of done that on Saturday. I have to go to my parents house to use my welder. But,I might have a lead on a spare one. I'll see how that pans out.
