    Re: The Undead Gateway Thread

Brake fluid decided it wants to escape from where the brake hose screws into the caliper. Everything had been fine, and then as I was waiting to start my second run, I noticed the pedal was really soft, but they seemed to work fine during the run. When I went to check tire pressures I noticed brake fluid everywhere on the driver's front wheelwell. Jacked it up took the wheel off and sure enough, it is was leaking from that spot. Packed it up, drove home using the brakes as little as possible and now I need to figure out why it started leaking.

Hopefully it is as easy as tightening it up, but I'm not terribly hopeful about that. Although it does raise a question, is there some kind of sealant I should have used on that joint when I replaced the caliper last spring?

banjo fittings are a common fitting often found where flow has to take a 90 degree turn into or out of an object, usually a small fitting that works on fuel lines(stock cars) and hydraulic lines(brakes, clutch, ect)

I missed the banjo bolt part of your previous post. We don't have those on the Cougars. Just a straight fitting that screws into the caliper.

    Re: The Undead Gateway Thread

I broke the bolt that holds the rear sway bar. Not a big deal I've broken rusted bolts before. I drill it and insert a bolt extractor. Guess what, I broke that to. So now I'm screwed. I'm going to have to take out the sub frame and cut apart the nice boxed mounts and redo them.

    Any other suggestions???

Sounds like your only option. It's not hard to drop it, and I'm assuming you've done it before so it should only take you a half hour to get the thing out of there.

As long as I don't break any more rusted bolts.

I'm really considering storing my car for the winter. Only problem is I already have two cars in storage I don't have room for a third.
