exactly, rally is really a 1 car show at any given corner, the only time the cars will see each other is the parc expose's, service, if one breaks down and cant continue. Many of those it looks like it was soft enough to roll em back over and they would continue

not, most of the time they havent seen the stage before, at least on that level of rally, the WRC guys get to recce the course a few days before to try and make some notes about where to cut, not cut, ect.

That's part of what makes rallying so challanging. Not only do they have to dive on different surfaces (ice, snow, tarmac, gravel, etc.), but they are also driving by the seat of the pants with only codriver pace notes guiding them.
