i know the value of my house went up 2 months after we moved in here because we painted. it was GOD AWFUL when we moved in. who paints rooms hunter green, and dark maroon

My former roommate painted his upstairs hall a fairly dark maroon color. It looked really good actually, but it was a well lit area, so he could get away with a dark color.

the room that was that color has a bare wood ceiling and a darker fireplace.

the bedroom was dark green and has a wall of dark wood closes doors

Yeah not a good idea unless it's a big room with lots of light.
