I don't want a c-section because you don't get to hold your baby until a couple hours later. The c-section rate in this country is like 20-30% which is way too high. A lot of people seem to opt for it tho as an easy way out of labor.

A guy at work and wife wife wen that route, although their reasoning was different. It was odd. He left work the day before saying "Well, we're going to have a baby in the morning".

same basic thing for some friends of mine... they picked out a hospital in Downer's Grove they liked, even though they live 45 minutes south in good traffic. She was having twins on top of that, so they decided to induce weeks ahead of time to make sure there wasn't a panicked attempt to drive 40 miles in rush hour and have to have twins on 294.

That's what I've heard, I never understood why you would opt for the C-Section either. Plus it leaves a nice scar!

What made that situation even stranger was that his wife is a nurse in the maternity ward so she had a better than average knowledge of what was going on every step of the way.
