Re: The Undead Gateway Thread
well the pulley i have on the atx is on the crank, so to me it feels like it revs faster and gets moving quicker.
for the alt/PS pullies once the 3L is back together im gonna get it back on the dyno and tweak the tune from 87->93 octane but the pullies will be the only other different thing other than a gatorback belt so well see what happens so in theory if you got the crank pulley that is a smaller diameter and the alt/PS pullies that are a larger diameter the stuff should all sping at near stock revolutions. I wonder how that would effect the power...

Re: The Undead Gateway Thread
i get that a lot.
the pullies i got from you slow down the spinning of the alt and the power stering pump. therefore its supposed to allow more power for the crank b/c its easier to spin everything , iirc the pulley i have on the atx is smaller than the stock crank pulley. this lets the crank spin up faster b/c it is turning a smaller lighter pulley. essentially they do the same thing in different ways, i think. of course i might just be talking out my arse but it sounds about right though

Re: The Undead Gateway Thread
yes. they accomplish the same thing in different ways.
personally, I think the overdrive accesory pullies are much safer than the crank underdrive pully. because your messing around with pully weight and dampering, your introducing stresses that may/may-not be good for the engine [at least for long term durability]. I am not too concerned with "affecting" the long time durability due to additional vibrations of the alternator... well because its not going to last long enough to matter. but things like the crank, well... just feels like its too much risk to make it worth while.
