I'm glad I didn't get the CF hood last year. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to run DSP this year.

paint both sides of the CF hood, and dont let anyone open your hood and, bam, your STS legal

Some of us dont like CF for the look just the lighter weight.... you couldnt pay me to put any of those carbon fiber accessories on my cougar.
Some day i might get a CF hood and it will at least be painted on the top to match the car.

What's the benefit of CF as compared to fiberglass?

it really only benefits the hood for less weight..everything else is usually layered so much you lose the wieght reasoning.

CF is slightly lighter, but quite a bit stronger compared to fiberglass. Unfortunantly it is quite a bit more expensive. In school (5 years ago now

) we used both for our wind tunnel model, IIRC the CF material was 8x the cost of fiberglass.

I really don't like carbon fiber at all! Not even a little. I think I'll stick with fiberglass!

next time we have a meet Ill let you open my hood and you can see the difference or yourself. Cf looks best I think with my color and black. Other than that I would paint it as well

Mary we need to plan a meet its been a while and we have some newbs
