RE:autometer lunar series volt gauge for sale

so are you doing a hybrid or a 3.0 with the 2.5 uim? Why would you have to weld the ports if its a direct swap?

RE: autometer lunar series volt gauge for sale

3.0 with 2.5 upper and lower intake manifold. The 2.5 lower intake has a dual port, and their freakin' huge to. The 3.0 has an oval and they're extremly small. So basically, last night I was cutting the 3.0 head to enlarge the oval to match the lower intake manifold. Let me see if I can get a pic. It'll be easier to see what I'm talkin about.

Here's the 3.0, the top pic, is the original, the second is the welding that needs to take place, plus he had already made a new port on the left side of the oval, and the third is the actual widening of the oval port to make more of a dual port.

RE: autometer lunar series volt gauge for sale

That's been debated, bverything I've seen has been hypothetical. Until somone actually hooks a 3.0L UIM to a flow bench we'll never really know. The biggest benefit is that the 2.5L manifols only require porting the heads, while the 3.0L manifold required several modifcations to work on the Cougar (IMRC, EGR, IAC, and some other stuff I'm forgetting right now).
