well I got back from the junkyard... I got the 2 missing stock bolts I needed for the caliper brackets [and some locktight]

well i got good news and bad news. good news is that the 3L is back together, bad news is that its still ticking, sorta. got it put back together and the tick was gone we do the shut the car off andn go inside to get cleaned up. Come back outside, hop in the car start it up and its back. WTF?? So from the little bit of driving i did to lunch and home in came and went 5-6 times. Im stumped as hell. Only thing i can think of is that the plate between the trans and motor shifted somehow, i dont know how though and its hitting the flywheel. i checked the exhaust bolts and theyre good and the nut is as far down on the egr tube as its gonna get so IDK what to do

That kinda sucks. I always hate trying to troubleshoot intermittant problems. You get your hopes up that it's fixed and then they get crushed when it comes back.
