I dont see any reason that they cant be made around the 2# mark. The contouring of the bumper is different than anything I've made before, but I should be able to do it with 2-twill rather than the 4x4 weave.

gimmie a list of parts that can potentially be replaced. I'm looking at getting my own vacuum pump so I can start doing cf fabrication again. remember everything I could make would need to be painted, I am not doing this for astetic reasons [that adds weight]
Finally someone uses CF for what it is meant for! Paint that ****!

I'll dig through the rules. For STS and DSP, I don't think there is a lot that CF would work for though. SM allows quite a bit more.

I wouldn't think of putting unpainted bumpers on my car anyway.

Re: The Undead Gateway Thread

front and rear bumpers, trunk hatch would be the biggest things. if you could make a door then and i wouldnt have to worry about the side impact b/c of the cage bars

Re: The Undead Gateway Thread

I think at this point my cars irrevibly SM anyways [I think I screwed myself with the subframe connectors]. but I'm not interested in doing it for a certain class, I'm doing it because I can.

Re: The Undead Gateway Thread

ironically, the door would by far be the easiest.

I've never had to make a part with a sharp 90degree bend, so the trunk lid would be the most challanging part for me to fab.

Re: The Undead Gateway Thread

ooooo and id be up for a hood that was just a cover, no supporting structure underneath it, just enough to cover the motor. I actually thought of doing this with my old stock hood

Re: The Undead Gateway Thread

why would the door be the easiest?

wouldnt need to have the 90 bend either, make it with a built in cougar s lip. it could even be in 2 pieces that are epoxied together

Yeah, the subframe connectors are a bump to SM.
