and the safety bumper weights about 20 pounds, its heavier than it looks.

Re: The Undead Gateway Thread

well I'm back to my bad games on the UIM [back to metal removing]

I've totally removed those 6 knobs and 2 tabs [what those arrows are pointing to if they were in the photo]. the whole thing looks really different without them.

Re: The Undead Gateway Thread

I think I'm going to bring it into work later today and give it an early weighing.

stock it was 19#s, after EH it was 14.65. I wonder how much I was able to lower that.

Re: The Undead Gateway Thread

lol, I love this quote one of the CEG guys has in his sig

"Modding cars is hard. You can love it, but believe me, it doesn't always love you back. It's kinda like dating a German chick."

Re: The Undead Gateway Thread

I checked the rules, and there is no comments about weight, so theoretically you could make a paper thin CF/Kevlar cover and be legal. The downside is it would probably be really fragile.

So Terry, how much do you think it would take to make up some lightweight stock bumper covers? Preferably 99/00 since they look better.

I wouldn't have guessed the EH process removed that much material.

I did that too, I removed that whole front edge and rounded it smooth!

oh cool, so I'm not the first. I was really nervious taking that first one out.... especially with it being maxed honed.

the outer edges are next, I need an angle grinder to do that one.

Re: The Undead Gateway Thread

I would be freaking nervous to just start removing stuff. Experiment on an old stock one.

Yeah mine is maxed honed as well, I was nervous about it too. But it all worked out. I took a angle grinder to the front and back to get rid of that ledge as well as all the cast lines. It's worth it in the end!
