    Can you guess what happened?

    hey guys
I'm just finishing up an engine swap on my 04 Grand Prix GTP
it was/is powered by the 3800 series 3 motor with an Eaton m90 gen 5 supercharger, i have a 3.4 inch pulley (3.8 inch is stock) with all the supporting mods
Found this mess after driving down the highway and the car downshifting itself to 2nd gear at 70mph

it seams all the oil came out of the dip stick tube as there where no other oil leaks on the engine found and the dip stick was blown out of its tube

anyway i have a new motor in already and should have it running tomorrow! lol the new motor only has 4800 miles on it

So did you crack it open out of curiosity or were you thinking of fixing the engine and reselling it?

well after i pulled the motor i pulled out the spark plugs to see how much wear was on them for the amount of time i had them in and i saw that the engine ate half of one so me and a friend grabbed the impact and ripped it down to the block and crank in about 10 mins lol

im kinda thinking my tune had something to do with it, the motor if tuned right and with the right bolt ons can handle alot of power, but this one is just weird!

I wouldn't think it would be the tune if it blew the dipstick out. I would think the crankcase was being pressurized somehow?

I would guess the end of the plug fell off and popped the piston. Supercharger pressurized the hell out of the crankcase and the dipstick was the easiest area for the pressure to leave. I've seen similar
It could have been a serious fault with the plug being made. Or it could have been running lean enough to melt it. Seen a 350 melt a valve stem running lean and it dropped into the cylinder and thrashed it.
