    V6 Mustangs.

Okay, I love ALL Mustangs - that's inclusive of ALLLL Mustangs, so don't get me wrong. But why do all V6 Mustangs sound like crap? Obviously not talking about the new Duratec V6 for the newest models.

It has to be that pushrod - old fogey Moses crap.

Perhaps you've just heard v6's with poor quality exhaust. I've heard plenty that sound great. Hell, I own one and love it.

They do need the right exhaust system to sound good thats for sure. But you can say that for any engine.

Oh yeah. Your exhaust sounds great. No arguing there.

I'm sorry if I generalized my assumptions based on my sister's 05' stock V6 and my cousin's stock 00'. lololol

    Re: V6 Mustangs.

I agree Cody almost all of the older V6's that I have heard in person that had some sort of aftermarket exhaust sounded like total ****. Although there was someone on the boards a couple of years ago that got really into modding his V6 stang and he posted a video of a couple of V6 stangs that he ran with and they sounded pretty good. Although to me they had more of a sporty european sound, and not a muscle car sound. Micah I have never heard a V6 stang sound like that. That total sounds like a V8 with an aftermarket exhaust, color me impressed(with the sound any ways, the old V6 was still completely unimpressive otherwise).

They probably sound odd because your used to hearing the V8 noise coming out of the back of them. I don't think the V6 can come close to that.

Most V6's cannot compare to the sound produced by the small block pushrod. But I've heard 3.8s with a bigger cam that can compare with the exhaust note of the 4.6 Modular. Quite impressive. Sounds more like a muscle motor than a European.

That does sound great!! I'm hopefully picking up a magnaflow catted X pipe this week. Found a great deal on a slightly used one. Id like to pick up a nice catback too. Leaning towards Magnaflow as well. It has flowmaster super 40's welded into the stock exhaust now.
