Its a miracle! I have found the solution to the 10yr old question of how to make the cougar feel like the fastest car evar!

the cougar feels like a gdamn race car compared to my beater. So every new person who whines and complains "oh my cougar is slow", I have this to say: be ****ing grateful with what you have.





Seriously though, I finally got my car back - its ready for cougarfest, and I look forward to seeing most of you in 11 or 12 days!

i felt the EXACT same way when I let my insurance lapse for 12 hrs and in NC they take your tags for 30 days, so I borrowed a friends 4cyl escort that had 290k on it lol... after the 30 days was up and I got back in the cougar it felt like i was speed racer haha

I totally understand because my boyfriends grandpa has one and we had to drive it to school a few days and omg when I got back in my car.. it was like it had so much more power than before!

When I don't have my Cougar I either drive an Infiniti g35 or a Lincoln Zephyr, so when I get my Cougar back it feels slow...

Exactly, it goes the other way around too! I could have sworn the cougar was faster when I test drove someone else's Cougar.

That's why I drove a 2.5L Contour as a winter beater. It drives exactly like the Cougar. Well not anymore.

My SVT feels really slow compared to how my zetec was. the SVT just lacks that "pull your ass into the seat, snap your neck" power that my zetec had.

I was out driving it earlier, got the stereo hooked up, and all thats left to do is cleaning
There was one point where I actually felt tears start to swell up in my eyes!

It was just so good to be driving a 'complete' car again. The first time i took it out in 2007, the tire lost pressure/shredded which damaged the ball joint, then after getting it back I was too scared to drive it unless i absolutely HAD to. Then I sold the audio setup and was driving an empty shell of a car until November which was when we got Das Wagon. THEN I drove the car once (to the bodyshop) in mid-april, and got it back literally 6 days ago!

In a way, it doesn't even feel like mine... i'm just the driver, the car is its own entirely separate entity.
