i drive a 2001 cavi everyday 70 mile round trip. I feel your pain. My grand prix has been down since right after the dub show in May.

It was just so good to be driving a 'complete' car again. The first time i took it out in 2007, the tire lost pressure/shredded which damaged the ball joint, then after getting it back I was too scared to drive it unless i absolutely HAD to.

matt, I cant wait to see your car. I remember the first time I saw it [cf04 baby!] and ya, it was pretty mind blowing. And it had nothing to do with the boomin system, it was the little things like... well, wont ruin it for those who havent noticed them.

and I totally hear you... after my wheel snapped off on the expressway, its been terrifying to take out.

and matt, you wanna know something creepy, as soon as I get the cracked engine out of there and the new tranny in, other than the brake booster, gas tank, and PS cooler, and the hardlines, there will no longer be ANY original parts left of the car I bought 9.5 years ago.

Thanks Terry!! Wow, I always thought you were set on the performance-only side of the field and didn't pay much attention to those who focus primarily on the other stuff!
Cosmetic stuff is very individual, and I'm always shy about it because I know that whats looks great to one person, is the total opposite to another.
I'm seriously really proud to hear you say you liked what you saw! I know you don't give out compliments like that to just anyone!

Yeah! The thing I remember most about the wheel, was that the front of the car would shake... and EVEN after it had been looked over twice, everything replaced, I STILL didn't trust it for a while... I was practically doing pre-flight airplane style checks each time before I drove. heh!

That IS creepy! So basically, you will have built a whole new car!
The body though, thats original too right??
Whew! so... if someone were to ask you "what year is your car?" What would you say??

I dunno Matt.. your car has a lot of wheel gap, and the body looks like it is made out of plastic.. I mean I'm almost expecting to see a remote control next to it..
