As nice looking as it is ... it's a downright PIG ... tips the scales at 4135 lbs ... yep, she's two tons and change! Even with 425hp/similar tq, the car can only muster an even 13.0 in the 1/4 mile. Shave off 600 lbs and she would be deep in the 12's !

The first Challengers are all SRT-8's... though the RT test mules are on the road. The SRT-8 has the 6.1L V8 that makes 425hp and 420tq.

The R/T with the new 5.7L HEMI will be making 375hp and 404tq qith the manual transmission and 5hp/tq less with the auto.

The first model year of the Challenger is 2008... there are just a few at dealerships as of now. # 1 and #2 we just delivered to their owners the other day.

The actual weight of the car is more than that...

Wait till next model year when the "Track Pack" is added as an option...

Tremec T56 6spd manual transmission out of the Viper, Limited Slip Rear Diff, and a More Aggressive Axle ratio...

I assume it should put the regular R/T model deep in the 13's or even 12's... and the SRT definitely into the 12's....

If it is a production vehicle, it is a 2008... If it was a concept, then it has no year...

The First model year for the Challenger is 2008, and they are all SRT-8 models.

That is not an old car... it is a new production Challenger.

For 2008 there are 3 colors available, Black, Silver, Orange... all Automatics, all SRT-8 models... They made about 6400 of them... They will all be numbered, and most are selling well above sticker.

The 2009's will be released in a few months... The R/T and SXT models will be coming out, and a Manual transmission will be an option in the R/T and later the SRT-8.

Yeah the car was a sight to see. He might have said something like 470hp I really can't remember cause so much was going on afterwards.

I personally think they look great. I'm not much of a Mopar kinda guy but I would drive it. And I don't care what any of you say the Chargers/300m's look like a$$ I hate those cars .

The new Camaro is gonna look nice too. One of the only GM products I would ever be interested in.
