Funny thing at work today

This lady brought her escape in a work today, she just blew the engine, it was also at the end of her lease return (3 years). Found out she never did a SINGLE maintenance to the vehicle the entire time (anything!!). She thought that she never had to do any maintenance to the car since it was a lease. Well just say she had to pay the money to replace the engine. Atleast i know now that you can go 3 years without an oil change on a duratec. Some poeple are so dumb.

and im not kidding she never changed the oil in 3 YEARS??!! not to mention everything else. It was also her DD.

Re: Funny thing at work today

I haven't changed the oil in my car yet (01 cougar) and it runs fine. Is that something you're supposed to do?

Re: Funny thing at work today

There is a japanese guy at work who drive a Honda Minivan. The thing has almost 50k miles on it and he has never done an oil change on it. I guess his last car went the entire lease period without a change and this one is nearing that same thing. I feel bad for the people who get that van after him.

Girl i used to date had a Toyota Rav4. We were going to Venice for the weekend and the low oil light came on. I tell here that her oil lights are on and that we should check it out.

Her response: "Oh, you dont need to put any oil in there. This car is a lease and wont need anything next month when i have to take it in for maintenance."

My response: "How long have you had this car?"

Her: "oh about a year".
me: "So, you havent done anything to this car for a year?"
Her: "What do you mean?"

I soon broke up with her because of her car abuse.

BTW, when i checked the oil, it was pitch black... and almost empty!

Re: Funny thing at work today

I didn't change the oil in my Escort for 25K miles. No big deal. We drove for 40k miles after that before we sold it. Built Ford Tough.

But I did rotate my tires every 5,000 miles.

Better that than to keep on driving it and end up with the hood so hot you couldn't touch it. Inside, no radiator fluid left. My friend's son's girlfriend did that - the shop she had taken it to didn't replace the fan belt correctly, and it ended up damaging the engine, because she ignored the lights.
