RSX Premium or Focus SVT

Which one would you take ?

I cant decide between both ...

SVT has a great 6 speed german tranny.. very good brakes and handling is very nice.

RSX handling is as good .. RSX Type S are known to have issues but Im not comparing a Type S with a SVT here .. Just Premium vs SVT.

Which one would you take ?

Im not getting rid of my Cougar. Cougar will become week end car only. Need one for Summer/Job and Winter.

SVT, theres more room for improvement. Since there aren't alot of cougar/contour people in the area I hang with the focus guys and Ive seen some rowdy SVT's.

The FSVT is a blast to drive. Even with a SCT flash and a Torsen, it's a whole new car.
Plus the heated leather seats are sweet!
They are great little cars and great on gas, but they do run on Premium.
The Euro package is definitely something to look into also when decideing, just don't get the 4 door.

I haven't research either car specifically, and I would say either one would be a decent choice, but just by going from the norm of each manufacturer I would say the RSX is probably going to be better build quality because its an Acura, and last longer because its a Honda product. So, for a DD the RSX is probably a better opinion and it will probably hold its value much better. Look at what Honda Preludes and Acura Integras sell for compared to the Cougar of the same year.

Focus SVT

It's more handy on a daily use. It comes with lots of nice features and offers good performance without any modifications. If you like to ride something different, Focus SVT are not as common as RSX.

For my part when I bought the cougar I was looking for cougar V6 sport pack or a Focus SVT

more available for the RSX but working on them I know how much of a POS they are and would not buy one. Great drivetrain but thats about it. Suspension design is awful and everything is very cheaply made. Another reason they are not made anymore.

Focus SVT will be more fun to drive then RSX. Driven a buddies RSX-S before and wasn't greatly impressed.

actually the drivetrain is one of the weakest parts of the car. base or type s both have junk transmissions with no lsd and many many blown third gears.
