99 Cougar for 98 SVT Contour

This guy wants to trade me his 98 SVt Contour for my 99 2.5L Cougar. The only thing is my car runs and his at the time isnt. Dilemna's Dilemna's!!!Here is what his ad says:



I have a 1998 Ford Contour S.V.T that drove like a dream. I bought it for 3200 and it cracked a valve. I changed the valve and cleaned up the entire engine while it was apart! Now it won't start not sure why! It's black and in great shape exterior and the interior is flawless!! The car won't start so it will have to be towed. I'm asking 1400 o.b.o am also interested in trades!! First reasonable offer gets it! NO SCAMMERS!!!

Here is a pic of the car too...if someone around TN knows anything about the Contour and could maybe help me out on the car i might just trade the guy even though my car is running and his isnt. If u know about the SVT engine and know what ur doing and your in TN or close let me know.

what i'm saying is do ya think i should trade the guy my Cougar with 156,000 something miles, that does run, but needs some work.... actually alot of work, for a 98 SVT Contour that doesnt run, but exterior and interior wise is in excellent condition is what i'm asking

only you can answer that qeustion.

for me, i would never trade my cougar for a contour, but then, im the original owner.

p.s. besides, his car does not run. what if the repair to get it running is going to cost you lots of money?... money you could have spent to make the cougar better?

If you dont have $1400 to buy his car, then you dont have money to make it run either. Keep yours because it runs. If you really really want his, either borrow the money from faimly or friend or go to the bank and get a personal loan.

wait what?? your considering trading a working car straight up for a non working car... thats crazy.

also never trust someones description of why a car doesnt run. it was only a cracked valve but I fixed that... not sure what I forgot to do/improperly did that the car wont start now though.

your going to be entering project hell with this one
