Cougar Replacement
Come this summer makes 5 years with the Cougar for me. She was great the first four years, but this last year has been a complete headache. The car looks and runs great now, but so comes the time when she needs to go now or possibly never because of things happening in the near future.
What I'm looking for: 2003 or newer 200hp+ stock Stock or very slightly modded Under $18,000 CDN Preferably less than 60,000km Post your vote and comment why if you'd like. Also any cars that I'm missing or should consider, please do post. Oh yeah, anyone wanna buy my car? ![]()

Re: Cougar Replacement
Best thing about the SRT-4, you get the Mopar stage 2/3 and you keep your factory warranty and have a car that whoops up on STi's and EVO's (once you get traction). Plus it has leather, trunk space, and its a good looking car.

Re: Cougar Replacement
I voted for the 350Z, either that or the G. I wouldn't get into a SRT-4 if you enjoy life. I also like the WRX as well as the S2K. In my eyes the Cobalt is nice, and fast but its just a Cobalt..nothing special. The Honda is nice tho, i haven't hear about any bad things with them.

Re: Cougar Replacement
I can't believe the Neon is getting votes...
Not even CLOSE to the same class as the rest. Well, maybe close to the Cobalt. But seriously, if you are over 19 years old and have a shred of self-confidence, you don't want a Neon. Those cars are, with few exceptions, for insecure teenagers.

Re: Cougar Replacement
Is this a daily driver? Do you have winters? How's the car theft by you?
As a daily driver... the Infinity and Nissan are probably the nicest, however due to cost of the infinity you'd probably have to get an older one. If you have winters, the WRX is the only one that would survive, and also offer a completely different type of fun. S2000's and WRX's on that list are often highly stolen cars... depending on the area... just something to think about. Lastly... The WRX is the safest car... in the way of crash test ratings compared to all the others. The SRT-4 would be dead last... but the others aren't very far away. There is a very high fatality rate for the 350z and G35 currently... it is believed to be more driver related error than vehicle problem... but honestly I believe the same kids are driving the WRX's and aleast they are still alive to tell the tale... Honestly... completely independant of situations... any would be fine... I would see which of the vehicle I could get the newest, lowest mileage, best condition, most options, etc... for my dollar...

Re: Cougar Replacement
S2k! Extremely tail happy, unique, and competetive. That or the Z or Subie. The G is just a heavy Z, and the Neon and Cobalt aren't even close. In my humble opinion.

Re: Cougar Replacement
Nitrik, you live in Canada man... forget the 350Z and the S2000, and as Andy said, just 'no' on the Neon.
I would go for the WRX, awd, you can use it all year round, large source of parts, looks nice, and is fun to drive. ![]() |

Re: Cougar Replacement
Ahem, I was just sayin the SRT is a threat for speed. Personally for me the WRX has always been one of my favorites. Plus, you can stay here on NECO and chat WRX with the other 1,000 people that have them...because its such a great car. Boxers = No gas mileage.
Turbo's 4's = good gas mileage depending on how you drive it.
