Looking at an SRT-4...
A guy I work with is selling his SRT-4, it already has some mods done to it, he is going through a divorce and is wanting to just sell it ASAP since the bank is going to take it anyway. He is asking 9K, and he also owns an S13 and an LS2 GTO, so it's not about the money. Just was wondering if anybody owns one, or knows somebody with one, just looking for any valuable input. Thanks!

Neons.org
From what I've heard they are decent cars.

Re: Looking at an SRT-4...
Yeah, I have been looking online and I see a 50/50 split of good and bad, to I thought I would ask here. I drove one for a month years ago, and I burnt the tires off it!

Re: Looking at an SRT-4...
Personally I'd buy an SRT-4 Neon before a miata. They're both small, light and quick, but the SRT kills it in looks. Plus, I'd imagine parts are cheaper for the neon.

![]() I think the miata is a better car... But I think i'd choose the SRT-4 just because the miata looks too small... The SRT-4 was a good bang for the buck when it first came out... Fastest production car under 20k I think it was...

Re: Looking at an SRT-4...
The Miata isn't so much a chick car since the "tuner scene" took off, but it's a small, 2-seater roadster, that is very underpowered. Handling is there, and RWD is always good, but I still think it falls short on performance, styling, and pretty much everything else, IMHO. TurboNeonStore.com is an amazing site for SRT-4 owners, they have it all.

Re: Looking at an SRT-4...
If I were you, I would drive it and see what you think. In the end, to me at least, that is definitely the most important part of car buying. Between my wife and I, we've owned both first and second gen Neons, and a good friend of mine has a heavily modded SRT-4. I think they're fun little cars for cheap money. The newer ones are decently nice. You won't find the high end creature comforts that the expensive foreign cars will give you, but you'll blow their doors, and that's gotta be worth something. The resale sucks, but if you love it you'd probably run it into the ground instead of selling it anyway.
