difference btwn Moonroof and sunroof
I was talking with he fiance, and she asked me what the difference between a sun roof and a moonroof was. I said as far as I knew a Moonroof you have a panal you can close, and a sunroof is always open. Is this true?

Re: difference btwn Moonroof and sunroof
- If it's a glass panel (you can see outward without opening), it's a moonroof. If it's a moonroof with an interior sliding panel to block the sun when the roof is closed, it's still a moonroof.
- If it's a solid panel (can't see out unless you open it), it's a sunroof. At least those are the definitions I've already heard and used. The way I've kept them straight, even on a cold night you can see the moon while staying warm when you've got a moonroof. ![]()

Re: difference btwn Moonroof and sunroof
I agree with Goldie on this one, but when it comes down to it either one means you got a hole in the roof of your car that lets light and air in when open. I see no reason to hash over which is which.

Re: difference btwn Moonroof and sunroof
I always though of it like this:
A sunroof you need to open to let the light and air in, because its sunny out, and it's getting warm in your car, and you want the light and nice blowing air all over you... Like a convertable. A moonroof is when you want to see the moon, but it's at night, and fricken freezing, so you have the piece of glass that you can look through...
