difference btwn Moonroof and sunroof

don't know what 1999 brochure you have, but the one in my hand clearly lists it as a "power moonroof" and the 2000 brochure listing "power tilt moonroof"

That's how I always distinguished the two.

Sunroof => Glass

It's unfortunate that you're distinguishing them backwards.

Sunroof --> solid panel
Moonroof --> glass panel

You want to keep the sun out, and let the moonlight in. Think keeping the interior cool, and letting in the romantic moon glow

"Moonroof" is a term created by Ford in the 70s, yet is now used generically to describe glass panel inbuilt electric sunroofs.

but aren't the moon/sun roofs on cougars solid (non-glass)? so at least in 1999-2000 ford didn't even follow their own definition? maybe we all should just agree that it is a cluster**** and not worry about which is which

The way I read it is it once had one meaning but now has a different meaning.
