I would say something here, but that risks Shelly hunting me down and killing me, so I'll pass.

So help me - I have a thing for white cars. I never used to like them, but now every time I see a nice white car, I look twice...

Re: I need some serious car buying advice ...

Thanks all ... I'm taking pictures of the Cougar tomorrow for a buyer (on the boards). I will take pictures of the Camry as well. I must say, this is probably one of the quietest cars I have driven. Other than a slight wind noise across the A-pillar, it's almost dead quiet doing 80 on the highway. And this V6 is velvety smooth and pulls pretty hard (268hp/248tq). It's mated to a 6 speed automatic with manumatic controll that's responsive to shift input. I drove it into D.C. yesterday (put 175 miles on the car yesterday) and it really did affirm my choice. I'm very happy!

Re: I need some serious car buying advice ...

Just filled up the car today for the first time ... according to mileage, she chimed in at 25.2 MPG ... considering how often I have stepped on the accelerator, I'm rather surprised at how good that number is. I was totally expecting around 20-21 MPG. I can't tell you how impressed I'm am with this car's build quality, quietness on the road, and last but not least, performance. Steering is a little numb, but good. It goes where you expect without any twitchyness, but it does feel numb and somewhat disconnected. Other than that, thouroughly impressed and glad I chose the V6 over the I4 since I will be selling the Cougar soon. To further validate my V6 choice, I found this info from Consumer Guide Auto:

Quote:
Camrys with the 4-cylinder engine furnish adequate go with either transmission. In Consumer Guide testing, an LE automatic did 10.1 sec 0-60 mph. However, 4-cylinder models feel taxed with the automatic when attempting quick acceleration in the 35-55-mph range. V6 versions are impressively strong in all situations; in our tests a XLE V6 did 0-60 mph in 6.2 seconds.
A full 4 seconds quicker!!!

This weekend I will be changing the oil and filter (break in) at roughly 750 miles on the clock. I'll report back on my take of the mechanical layout in reference to ease of maintenance. She has a date with the window tinter on Saturday as well as some all weather mats and window deflectors on the way scheduled to arrive on Saturday
