So I''m happy with a lot of the responses here. Find the gas stations around you and choose ahead of time and you can do it. I run all errands around my neighborhood with my bike. I'm organizing the cabs here in Chicago to do the same and they like the idea. One cab driver used to work for Exxon and said thats what Exxon fears the people will do. That's why we have a forum gentlemen and ladies so our voice can be heard. Peace

TrackCat did you read my response at all. It's a Facebook Groupie statement, because you crtl + c'd it.
Second, banning particular gas stations WILL NOT WORK. I'm not getting into the technicalities of it, but read the Snopes link that I posted. It's basic economics!
You're not changing the demand of gas, you're just buying it elsewhere. And in the long run, those companies must find the increase in production - so what do they do? Buy it from other resources (like Exxon) and then hike up their own prices because of the increase in buyers.
So the other guy wins, Exxon wins, and you lose more!
How do lower gas prices, you lower your reliance on foreign oil nations. You invest in new hybrid technologies, from hybrid & electric cars to solar energy that can be used to power electric cars. Again, not everyone can use public transportation. Considering that most of us live in Sububeria, it simply isn't available to us. For me, it would require a 10 minute drive to a bus stop... that doesn't have parking... and then a 10 minute trip back. That's compared to 15 minutes the other way to get to school in my car. It's simply not practical.

And I'd ride my bike everywhere... except that it's only warm enough 4 months out of the year, and at those times I'm out of school, and my job is 1/2 hr. drive.

lol, is this a Facebook groupie? Cause you know how they get things down... one Wall Post and Status Change at a time! ... Or is it Consumerist.com...
Simply put, your original statement is a Echain with no official basis. They come out every four years as the Presidential election nears and eventually will wain off. So
