Re: Mustang Rebuild........ Updated 05/05/2008
Well, my insurance company is still fighting Optima to pay them back for my claim. That is all I know. Since they paid out on the claim, they won't tell me anything. I guess it is none of my business.
The investigator who came out and looked at my car took the battery and alternator. I had a new alternator on the car when it caught fire. Sooooooooooo, I don't know what it was. All I can tell you is that one of the cells totally melted off the battery. Here are a couple of pics of it.![]() ![]() |

So what brand of battery did you go with this time? I recognize the lable, but it's not attaching itself to any names in my brain.

Looks good. Very close to starting it up for the first time looks like (I almost typed firing it up for the first time, but I dont think that's what you wanna hear/read)
How much more do you have to do? I see the plug wires need to be installed, as well as the radiator. Looks like you need connections to the TPS and IAC...

![]() I just got a new 12 piece headlight kit delivered last week and now I have to buy two new front tires. The one on the drivers side had a melted rain guard stuck to it that I had to pry off with a shovel, so I am thinking that even though the tire is still inflated, it is probably pretty bubbled on the inside. Still need to also install the fan shroud. Other than that, it is almost complete. I have a new 3" Cowl hood in my garage waiting to be installed also But, I might have to drive it in primer for awhile. The guy I want to paint it is pretty expensive, so I am going to have to save up for a little while to get it done right. ![]() |
