I definitely agree with you it does look a lot nicer, but how many of those holes can you actually see when the engine is in?

Lots, it's not like a Cougar. With a 302 you can see a lot of the fender walls. Especially if you relocate your battery.

It all depends on what you want. If it's just a driver and not a show car then leave it. But if you want your engine bay to pop. Then filling the holes is a must.

Oh ok. I've never seen the engine compartment to a fox body mustang so that would probably help show better.

Yeah....definitely NOT like a cougar.

Here's one of the cleanest Engine bays I've seen.

Re: Mustang Rebuild........ Updated 02/18/2008

The easiest way to fill these holes is extremely simple ... strip the area, use a brass hammer on one side of the hole and then use a MIG machine to tack weld the hole shut. The MIG filler will not stick to the brass hammer, but will bridge the gap and fill the hole. Simple to do and Maverick is right ... no better time than when the engine is on the garage floor.

That's how I did mine. It takes a bit of time grinding them down and smoothing them out but it's worth it.
