I noticed in the earlier pictures that the steering rack boot was melted. From the recent pictures it looks like the melted boot is gone. I know there are several internal plastic peices in these racks. If it was hot enough to melt the boot it was probably also hot enough to melt those internal parts too.

No, that's how they come from the Factory. I was telling her to weld them shut and grind them smooth. It looks so much better but I guess she didn't listen.

I did listen It wasn't in the budget. It was either that or some MSD items.

You can always buy the MSD stuff later. You only get one chance to fill the holes. Well unless you want to pull the engine again and repaint.

No big deal, it just nice to do it since you were repainting it anyways.

I don't think the time and labor would really be worth the cosmetic value. How many of those holes can you actually see when the engine is in?
