    It doesn't have to be super strong. It's only there to keep the driveshaft from falling to the ground in case it breaks.
    IIRC the mythbusters car did break some of the suspension. And you have to remember this guys car is a whole lot more powerful than the mythbusters car.

    Exactly drive shaft loops will only have the weight of
    the drive shaft to hold up which isn't very much.

    Atleast it happened there instead of the end of the track.
    I wonder what that case and yoke looked like afterwards.

    yeah your right, with the extra power and torque being transmitted i can see it doing it, especially with the rpms the shaft is running.
