I have been dreading this day for a very long time. I hoped to keep my car for the next 20 years or more. My wife will not be happy when she finds out that I am selling my baby, but I know that it is for the best with our future plans. I am currently in the middle of my 7 years of college to get my Masters, which takes alot of time and alot of money! My wife and I just bought a new home and I cannot continue to work as many hours as I do and go to school full time. Something needs to go, and sadly, it must be my car. I am very serious about selling it, and this thread is not just an "intrest check" etc... I would not take the time to list everything out if I was not 100% sure that the car needs to go. Anyone seriously interested in the car is welcome to come cruise with me down to Woodward to really see how fast and fun this car is. It is estimated to have 400hp/tq at 14psi, and around 310hp with even more torque at 7 psi, and those numbers are at the wheels!!! This thing hauls! Traction isn't near as bad as I though either. I can even hold first under good conditions at 7psi, and I can hold 2nd no problem at 12 psi but first gear traction is defenitly bad at 12psi!!! Just gotta pedal first at high boost levels!
Exterior:
- Brand new professional paint job by Tom Holzer Ford. I have all of the paper work and receipts adding up to about $4,500 for the quality paint job. At the time of new paint, I purchased a brand new front bumper because I didn't want the hassle of having the orignal one refurbished (it had lots of rock chips and cracks in on the bottom of the bumper from the previous owner pulling to close to low parking curbs, etc..). I also purchased brand new side skirts with new jack covers because I didn't want to deal with having all of the deep scratches in the side skirts repaired as well. Receipts from the brand new OEM front bumper and side skirts totalled almost up to $1000 after shipping and tax, etc. I do have all of that paper work as well. So paint and new body parts totalled around $5,500. All of this work was done over last winter as I had the car stored almost all winter. This was winter of '06-'07.
- Custom Hella projector headlamps are included with the sale of this car. The headlights alone are worth a good chunk of change and no, I am not intereseted in selling them seperately at this time! The headlights could be easily sold for over $500 used as they are. I have been meaning to take apart the passenger side one and reseal it because it does get some condinsation during long rainstorms or really humid weather. Other than that, the headlights are in great shape.
- Stazi gen 1.5 mesh all around. Cost was around $75 or so back in the day.
- Tint all around (not sure of the % though). It looks good but it must not be too dark because I have never got a ticket for it.
- Debadged trunk lid with SVT in the Ford oval spot above the rear reflector.
- As my last exterior mod, I have a Front Mount Intercooler hiding behind the lower front mesh as a hint to the cars power!
Interior:
- My interior is in near mint condtion. I have a little bit of fading on the steering wheel, but I have practically a brand new Midnight blue one to replace it (paid $100 back in the day for it); I can install before the car is sold. Pics of the interior still have the old steering wheel.
- I have a set of BRAND NEW OEM midnight blue SVT floormats (over $100 spent), alone with another set of near mint ones that I have hiding under my big protective rubber floormats!
- I have had tons of SVT parts cars, and I was always sure to take the best peices of each parts car and put them into my SVT. So my leather seats are in amazing shape, even the drivers side seat! The seats have about 1/2 the mileage on them than the car has because most of the seats came from my other SVTs.
- I have the Focus ST shift knob. ~ $40 shipped
- Kenwood head unit does come with the car, and a few sets of good speakers that I have had from my parts cars. The speakers currently in the car are good. I never really was big into the whole subs and amps stuff because it just weights down a car.![]()
Wheels/Tires:
- I have a set of E0's in pretty good shape with great tires and plently of tread left on them. They are 225/50/16's and they gripped amazing well with the 3L Turbo. I have 2 extra tires for these rims with good tread left as well.
- I also have a set of OZ Superleggeras with amazing tires. These cost $275 or so a peice when brand new, and my OZ's are in mint condition as if they just rolled off the line! They are extremely strong and they only weight about 14 or 15lbs! I actually have extra tires for them as well with lots of tread life left. I have 235/45/17s and 225/45/17s for these rims. This setup with the extra tires is easily worth $1000.
Suspension:
- I have Koni Struts with Ground Control Coilovers currently installed on the car. Koni even has a lifetime warrenty with the struts if I remember correctly. I have receipts totalling around $1,000 or more for just the suspension, not even including the labor!
- I installed a Rear Strut Tower Brace which cost around $120.
- I have 2 options for a rear sway bar that will be included with the sale...
*First option is the Aussie bar with bushings
*Second option is the Bat rear sway bar
They were each around $120 if I remember correctly.
Performance:
- '03 Taurus 3L longblock, with the 3L heads portmatched to the SVT LIM. I have SVT cams installed in the 3L for maximum power. Motor with cams install and porting, along with install and purchase of clevite tri metal rod bearings ($1,000). Motor is an LKQ motor and has about 20,000 miles on it.
- Haines Motorsports rebuilt MTX 75 with lots of goodies.
*Qualife LSD
*Zetec Final Drive Ratio (great for a boosted motor!)
*Focus Shift Tower
*Revised 3rd gear syncro
*Fresh Royal Purple Syncro Max Fluid
Paperwork totals up to about $1,800 for the transmission overhaul and beefing up.
- New Spec Stage 3+ clutch and new TOB ($500)
- Fidanza Lightweight flywheel($350)
- Poly filled soild motor mounts (front and rear) ~ $75
- Nautalis Performance Stage 2 Turbo kit: retails around $3,500 uninstalled
*includes all piping
*42 lb/hr injectors
*Lightning 80mm MAF
*Masterpower t3/t4 57trim turbo
*Upgraded Front Mount Intercooler
*braided SS oil feed line
*Tial 38mm Wastegate with 7psi spring
*Turbo XS RFL Type H BOV
Things I purchased on top of the price of for the kit:
- Turbo XS manual Boost controller for $100
- Stewart Warner Maximum Performance Series Guages
*Mechanical Boost/Vac - $65
*Mechanical Oil Pressure -$65
*Exhaust Gas Temp - $105
*Pyrometer kit for EGT - $60
- AEM Wideband Air/fuel guage - $275
- Steeda Tri Ax Short Shifter with riser plate - $120
- X Calibrator II with tunes from Tom - $300 (or more!?!? can't remember!)
- EVO Fuel pump - 260 lph I was told ($100)
Exhaust:
- MSDS ceremic coated headers (paid $320 or so)
- Custom cat back with a straight through Magnaflow resonator and 2 magnaflow mufflers. ($500 installed)
Other:
- New alternator ($150)
- New starter ($175)
- Brand new Optima Red Top Battery and the battery relocation kit for the turbo (combined price of $250). I have the receipt and warrenty for the battery.
Both I believe have a lifetime warrenty. I'll have to check my paper work.
I am sure there is alot more that I cannot think of at this time. Somebody is going to be getting a great deal as you can see that everything listed doesn't even include LABOR!!!!!!! This car was built with quality in mind, and no shortcuts were taken! I almost forgot, the car has around 133,00 miles on the body, but I forget about that all the time because there is almost nothing original on or in the car with that many miles on it, not even the interior!![]()
The Bad:
- 1 scractch about 2 or 3 inches long on the front bumper.
- I need to spend some time playing around with the adjustment of my shift cables because it was tricky getting it into 4th gear, but I readjusted and now it is tricky getting it into 3rd gear. If you just mash it into gear it was slightly grind and so I have been babying my 2nd to 3rd shifts to protect the new revised 3rd gear syncro until I get this adjustment right and things figured out.
- The midnight blue carpet in the car is perfect, except for a small area on the drivers side up by the pedals where the carpet is fading from midnight blue to a grayish. You can only really notice it when the brand new bright midnight blue floormats are in and next to it which contrasts it so that you can see the fading carpet.
Here are a few pics, but I have thousands along the way from the start to finish of the car!
Serious buyers only please. I so do not want to hit the "Submit New Thread" button, but I know that the time has come and my degree needs to be my priority. I will be able to afford to work less and study more once this is gone. Somebody local please buy it so that I can still cruise with you!
Oh, for a price.
I think that $11,500 is a very very fair price for the car as it sits with everything done to it.
I will take $10,500 if you don't want the OZ Superleggars. The Stock E0's do have good tires on them.
I will consider offers that are VERY reasonable, but I won't waste my time on low ballers. I might consider a trade for a low mileage, clean SVT plus cash or other car because I will still need a decent car to drive around. I am open to offers. Email me at "JReebs33" at yahoo dot com if my PM box is full.
Thanks for looking.
Jeff (Reebs)
