Closing threads?
Hey guys. I was just wondering, since I seem to be seeing a growing trend. Is there some new (or not so new) rule, that I didn't see, where a thread needs to be closed if it covers aspects of another topic/thread?
I'm not going to name names or point to any specific thread, but it seems like any time a thread borders on any other topic that's been covered, it gets closed.

Re: Closing threads?
A lot of the times it's a simple question that's easily answered or has been answered before. So there's no need to leave it open where it can just lead to needless posts or bumps a year later.
I've seen no sign of it being overused though.
