    Fuel Pressure drops

Gentle creatures of the 2 doors,

Current setup. Return fuel system. Stock 2.5L Rail. Stock Regulator. 42lb injectors. Walbro 255lph GSS342 (Fuel pump has been insane loud since day one very whiny outside of the car. )

My fuel pressure is dropping at WOT at roughly 5.5k~ RPM or greater. From 60~ PSI down to about 40 (Maybe less) Causing the car to lean out, basically have no choice but to let off....

    - Regulator and rail have maybe 2k miles on them, fuel pump has maybe a few hundred miles on it. Running a stock style sock. New fuel filter. Gas tank is full.

    - I have a fuel pump jumper relay to run fatter 12ga power direct from the battery.

    - voltage is good all the way through the rpm.

I don't know what the hell is going on.

Found this DanG post from back in the day. It's pretty much exactly my symptoms, except for my pressure doesn't go down to 20psi... Maybe 40psi before i let off.

I ordered a 340 aeromotive. How would i bench test it? It's a tough test being high rpm high load.

I recall reading a few years ago that "Walbro" pumps from China had flooded the market. They had all the same markings as the real McCoy. It's going to kill Walbro's reputation. You may have seen in the news that a similar issue is plaguing Amazon. Orders from legitimate businesses are being fulfilled by Amazon with Chinese knock-offs; everything that looks the same is treated the same at the warehouse. That practice is eventually going to catch up with them and kill their rep.
