    Zex Safe Shot

I have a 1999 Cougar w/ Intake and Exhaust. I was wondering after much searching , reading, and comprehending, would the safe shot nitrous system from Zex be worth it on my automatic? I am looking into a transmission cooler from B&M to help her out a bit. Since the safe shot is "universal", has anyone ever had the safe shot version or is it ideal to just buy a 55-75 hp gain kit?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Sorry for my ignorance, but wtf is a "safe shot"?

I've ran a 50 shot and my cougar's still beating. I have all the proper precautions and safeties, though (FPSS, Window Switch, Tune). My car is also an automatic.

It is a kit made by Zex, it's called Zex Safe Shot Nitrous System.

Zex: Safe Shot Nitrous System From ZEX™

15-35 HP gains or should I just go w/ 50 or 75 shots?

Go 75. I ran 75 for a long time, the zex jet settings are spot on for air /fuels. Unless something is wrong with your fuel delivery, it should all be fine. Youll enjoy the power. 75 is plenty safe.

Dude...15-35whp is nothing. Youll put down around 160ish to the wheel with a 35 shot. Just go with a 75. My atx put down around 202 with a 75. Best time I could pull at the track was a 14.1. Get the tranny cooler and youll be gold.

If you really want to go all out. Do a full bolt on setup including SVT parts, full catless exhaust, tune, and a high stall TC (3000k). With drag radials your atx could pull a mid-high 13 if the conditions were right.

oh i cant wait till my car gets the kinks worked out and i get my nitrous kit. Plan on doing a 50 shot initially and then upgrade to 100 after a tune just for fun. Going normal wet kit at first but im looking into direct port injection.

Will I need a tune with a 75 shot or could I just plug and chug with Zex kit would be best?

    Thanks

some people say you dont need a tune for a 75 shot and others recommend to get a tune. I would get a tune just to be on the safe side.

Well, you can always toss the jets in, do one pull on the dyno with the wideband. If the air fuel ratio is fine, then you dont need a tune. As long as your fuel system can manage youll be fine and itll be safe.
