Then take that budget and multiply it by two and start saving

I went 3L + custom build turbo setup (I built it myself). I spared no expense and made a lot of sacrafices in my design for a goal of putting down more power than anyone previously had (no fog lights, no A/C, no washer fluid). I have no doubts that I have attained my goal, but I have no way to prove it because I would have to swap in a $500 Stage 3+ clutch because I'm currently slipping a Stage 3 regular clutch at 14 psi on my setup. She made 391hp/374tq at 11 psi and she will run just past 18 psi before she starts to ping. There is a ton more power left with tuning and I have no doubt my car has 550-600 hp in her with a proper tune running 100+ octane fuel. I would say the max I could get on 93 might be around 500 hp.

Yes, it cost a lot of money to do and no, I don't have an exact figure, but ballpark around $10K-$12K to duplicate my setup. Joey & Tom's kit would be worth every penny and a sound investment in attaining such a goal, with the properly sized turbo and intercooler setup. The rest of the money is in the engine/driveline upgrades.

don't get mad. get wise. if you just want opinions, you'll get them alright. just searching on "supercharger" and/or "turbocharger" will bring up all the responses to those who have asked the same question already:
SUPERCHARGER VS TURBO
turbo vs super

but that's not the info you need to make a $5000+ decision. when i told you to look around, i implied that i had come across a good thread on the subject. here, i'll post the link for you:
Comparison of turbo to supercharger - CEG Forums

and whatever you do, don't search for any build threads, like those by me, FastCougar, DanG or PuckPuck. you might discover that you underestimated how much time and money go into such projects.
