IAT placement with turbo?

I would assume that the best place for the IAT sensor would be just before the throttle body (after the intercooler) vs. after the MAF (pre turbo). Is this correct, or should it remain just after the MAF? I would think it really wouldn't matter much since going pre-turbo with an intercooler that the intake charge temp wouldn't raise that much if the intercooler is doing it's job.

Re: IAT placement with turbo?

You'd definitely want it as close to the throttle body as possible or it will be reading off from what is actually going into the engine.

Re: IAT placement with turbo?

Trevor, Dan G made a point to tell me he was locating the IAT just ahead of the TB rather than just after the MAF so that the engine computer could get an accurate reading of the air that was entering the engine itself.
