Re: Project: Mavro Gato - 99 Turbo'd 3L

I'm not so sure... My intercooler is in the same spot and about the same size. I don't have the bottom cover on and I haven't been having any overheating issues. I suppose you could be generating a lot more heat than my supercharger setup but could it be enough to make it over heat... no idea. How about Topiks setup? Is he having similar issues? Did you ever flush the cooling system?

does having the FMIC up against the cross member/ box section cause a significant reduction in cooling performance ?. G.

Re: Project: Mavro Gato - 99 Turbo'd 3L

Since the build of this car back in 05 its never seen an issue of the engine overheating or even close to it however the intercooler cooling system is a different story. I have a bigger heat exchanger for it just havent had time to install.

no overheating issues here, either, without the underbody shield in place. but then, i haven't been boosting in the heat of summer yet.

Re: Project: Mavro Gato - 99 Turbo'd 3L

I just wanted to let everyone know that someone has bought the car. A deposit has been made contingent on me solving both the oiling issue and the overheating issue. I will state that the buyer is a member of the boards, is well known and I'm very glad that someone on these boards will be taking care of my pet project. That being said, I will not disclose who the buyer is, but he/she is more than welcome to let it be known if he/she wishes. I will be documenting the fixes. That is all
