EDIT: I just spoke with Mike Rivera of SCT tech support. He swears up and down that THE DIAGRAM IS CORRECT AND IS THE MALE END. Joey, can you please check what pins you have connected on yours? I really don't want to make a warranty claim let alone buy a new XCal.

That's what I was getting at ... a simple proof read of the document that diagram came from (what is it ... 1 page at most) would have revealed this flaw. I will be creating a sticky thread in the tuning section documenting my install of the AEM and will make this point VERY clear.

Here's what appears to be a complete list of possible causes of a high temp reading:

I went to my car and checked it again the plug diagram is male now if your ground is not to great it can pull power from the xcal2 (not likely) So if you hook up the male side using these pins then you will be correct. Joey

Re: Project: Mavro Gato - 99 Turbo'd 3L

Yeah, that's the same diagram you posted earlier and the same one that cooked my XCal. Joey, you posted in the XCal forums and elsewhere that the diagram was wrong. Did your problem turn out to be something else? For Trevor's sake, let's move this discussion over to my post on the wideband install in the Tuning forum.

Re: Project: Mavro Gato - 99 Turbo'd 3L

no I been running this setup for over a year it is male end just like SCT stated that pic came off of SCT Flash Devices - MORE Power . . . Period! when I tried the xcal2 the first time I used the female side because the dots look liked female holes but after I didn't recieve any signal I swapped the setup to male corresponding to the diagram. I tried to take pics but my camera does not have a clear closeup shot of the pins.

Trust me if you tried the male side and it didn't work then you have other problems. If you need more concrete evidence I can get me camcorder out and tape the process since it does show closeup better.
