Re: Project: Mavro Gato (56K ... Get a cup of coffee)

35r vs 30r same motor both .82 a/r on a Honda B18c block.

Take note ... the solid lines are a GT30R and the dotted lines are a GT35R ... both on the same engine. Both runs are at the same 24 psi. The Precision SC-61 is fairly comprable to the GT35R, so I'm confident that I can make 450+ whp without much problem

Re: Project: Mavro Gato (56K ... Get a cup of coffee)

Well, I have managed to leave out quite a bit of information from my 3 psi runs.

1) It would hit 3psi and then quickly drop to 1.5 psi ... I have a boost leak.
2) My high RPM idle has returned.

I then remembered that when I used the LIM/Head plates sold on CEG, I forgot to use RTV between the heads and the plate

So, last night I made some gaskets out of some gasket material that I had left over from the throttlebody gasket I made. Also, to play it safe, I will make 2 new TB gaskets to sandwitch in my TB seperator plate that I have ... currently, there is only one gasket. Running NA, it sealed just fine, but I'm affraid the boost will affect this, so I will run another gasket on the other side just to be safe.

I will get pictures of the gaskets and the install when I work on the car tomorrow. Apparently, the rain will stop tomorrow and I plan on test driving the car again at 6psi (I would guess roughly 290-300 whp).

Re: Project: Mavro Gato (56K ... Get a cup of coffee)

Let's just start by saying I hit 6.53 psi yesterday

However, when it did, psi dropped almost instantly to 2-3 then back to 6, then back to 2-3 ... multiple times a second. I don't know what this fluttering could be. Is this normal pulsing for the wastegate actuation?

Re: Project: Mavro Gato (56K ... Get a cup of coffee)

Boost controller malfunction or settings? IDK if you are even running a boost controller yet...

The boost controller will give auxiliary signal to the top diaphram of the wastegate- If no signal or bad signal, the wastegate will open and shut erratically.

Check for vacuum line diameter and/or leaks to the wastegate.

Re: Project: Mavro Gato (56K ... Get a cup of coffee)

I've search for line leaks and can't find any. I secured all the ends and tugged extremely hard and couldn't get them to budge. However, it's still fluttering

I did however manage to hit 8.54 psi

Re: Project: Mavro Gato (56K ... Get a cup of coffee)

Well, I just wanted to post my spring values in case that makes a difference in helping me diagnose this issue.

Wastegate: 38mm TiAL w/ 3.63 psi spring
BOV: 50mm TiAL w/9 psi spring
EBC: AEM TruBoost
Crack pressure = 5.00
Turbo: Precision SC-61
