Oddly enough, I was home sick today

The car is running ... there are only two things to complete until I can road test it:

1) Create the cat-back exhaust system.
2) Rewire the Air/Fuel gauge & wire up the boost controller/guage.

I started the car and let it idle for 10 minutes while I triple checked everything to make sure I had no leaks and that the turbo was draining properly.

Now, I have a mechanical boost/vac. gauge that I hooked up and it only read vacuum ... even when reving to 5,000 RPMs

So, I checked the vacuum line routing and it's exactly how the boost controller diagram specifies. At a bare minimum, I should be making 4psi. So, should the car build boost when reving in neutral? I would think so, but this is my first boosted car, so I have no experience.

it should boost in neutral, in my friends talon when he revs it in neutral you can hear the blow off valve so i'd say so

Wrong ... BOV operates off of vacuum. So, as soon as you give it gas and then let off, the BOV will open.

Re: Project: Mavro Gato (56K ... Get a cup of coffee)

No, it simply decreases the vacuum reading. Vacuum drops from -18 to near 0 (about -2 to -8), but it never registers boost. Is this normal?

Re: Project: Mavro Gato (56K ... Get a cup of coffee)

I figured as much, but thought that it would at least build some boost
