Re: Project: Mavro Gato (56K ... Get a cup of coffee)

With a proper traction bar setup in the front and proper weight reduction, there is no reason these cars can't get into the 11's or possibly high 10's. We are proving that the engines are capable of the power to support those times, but the chassis setup just hasn't been figured out.

At school I blueprinted a traction bar system with LCA's. Its quite simple surprisingly. Hopefully when its all said and done, it will work!

Re: Project: Mavro Gato (56K ... Get a cup of coffee)

if a Honda with an engine swap and turbo can get into the 10's and even lower then why cant a cougar with an engine swap and turbo. its all about the set-up. its possible, no ones been too crazy on achieving yet though....

Re: Project: Mavro Gato (56K ... Get a cup of coffee)

Yeah I have run my car at the track multiple times,I can't hook up at all until 3rd gear. I havent tried drag slicks yet,I will next year. Its kinda frustrating with all the power and it just doesnt stick. If it was AWD it would be amazing

Re: Project: Mavro Gato (56K ... Get a cup of coffee)

I've been happy with a fast street car I'm not really looking to make mine a track monster 1,2 and the some of 3rd smoke the hell out of the tires if I try to floor it so I just feather it when ever I have to launch and don't get into the gas until well into 2nd.

Re: Project: Mavro Gato (56K ... Get a cup of coffee)

I was out of town last weekend, so no progress to report. My new serpentine belt arrived on Monday, along with the remainder of my intercooler piping. I hope to have the intercooler piping done along with the intake setup this weekend.

The price of the car will depend on how much power I make

Re: Project: Mavro Gato (56K ... Get a cup of coffee)

Well, here is what remains to be done:

1) Configure intake from air filter to turbo compressor intake.
2) Configure intercooler piping from turbo compressor outlet to intercooler inlet.
3) Configure intercooler piping from intercooler outlet to throttle body inlet.
4) Configure BOV, IACV & IAT sensor into intake piping.
5) Route vacuum lines between the wastegate, turbo, BOV & boost controller/gauge.
6) Finish turbo down-pipe (extend to cat-back system).
7) Finish wastegate down-pipe (vent to atmosphere for now, integrate later).
8) Configure "cat-back" exhaust (will be cat-less using v-band clamps instead of 2/3 bolt flanges.
