Re: Project: Mavro Gato (56K ... Get a cup of coffee)
I'm about 3-4 hours away from starting the car. I made great progress recently. I have some more pictures to post, but I don't have access to them right now.
1)All that remains for power distribution is strapping the battery cable under the car, grounding it in the trunk and then wiring everything up under the hood to get power flowing. I have the line ran and the battery in place, but my cordless drill battery charger crapped out, leaving me stranded without a way of strapping the battery line to the bottom of the car ... I also didn't have self-tapping short screws. So, I had to buy a new cordless drill and some self-tapping screws. 2) Find a missing bolt ... the one that connects the rear roll resistor to it's bracket, so it's time to straighten up the garage again. 3) Flash the ECU 4) Turn the key and pray ![]()

Re: Project: Mavro Gato (56K ... Get a cup of coffee)
Man Trevor, the install looks great! That really sucks(no pun intended) that your clutch master is failed. Sorry that my situation didn't meet up to the problem you are having.
Now, the only thing I disagree with on your install is your Battery cable, you really should have run that through the interior, but since you didn't..... I would re think about where you have it tied off at, Having it zip tied the the E-nrake cable is a bad idea, there is going to be movement with the suspension. Personally I would be afraid of it chafing on something. Now I may not be seeing something that you are but you honestly should look into alternate routing. Otherwise... Beautiful man!. |

Re: Project: Mavro Gato (56K ... Get a cup of coffee)
not that its a good idea, and it is something I plan on changing, but not until everything else is working.... at least I'm not the only one targetting gobs of power and running stock brakes....
keep up the good work... sure looks like the weather is cooperating with you right now, same thing for me too, and since i'm in the "painting" mode nothing like a warmer day to help the paint cure...

Re: Project: Mavro Gato (56K ... Get a cup of coffee)
Cable routing is something that is definitely on the top of my list of reworking ... Those zip ties are easily cut and I have everything after that one tie very loosely held up so I could reroute later. As for running it through the car ... another thought I had, but I have done that twice in the past and always got RF issues with RPM signal in the radio speakers. Routing interior vs. exterior can always be redone once the car is running, which is my top priority.
As for the brakes ... I'm focusing on the turbo kit for now. Once that is done and I can save some more money, that will be addressed with a BAT 300mm kit ![]()
