hmmm ... been ages since I've seen one ... IIRC you are correct in that the tubing is cast solid and doesn't use a tube. Forgot about that

Re: Project: Mavro Gato - 99 Turbo'd 3L

No problem. I hope moving your IACV feed solves your issue. First time I've heard anyone report IACV failure, but that might also be due to the fact that you are running higher pressures than everyone but Joey.

EDIT: Say, have you moved your DPFE/EGR from the header to the down pipe? Guys at CEG are reporting that the DPFE cannot handle the pressure or the heat of the exhaust gas.

Once I solve the cooling issue (soon), she's going to hit the rollers again

EGR is GONE and as such, the DPFE is simply "tubeless", but MUST remain connected to the engine harness or you get a CEL. The EGR blockoff plate is tapped as my boost signal source for my BOV and boost gauge/waste gate controller.

You sure about that???

What is that long hose going from the front of the W/A intercooler around to the IACV area? Is that water and it just looks to be plugged in the IACV, but instead is going behind it to the firewall heater hose connection???

Re: Project: Mavro Gato - 99 Turbo'd 3L

Oh Dan did that originally and then admitted it was not a good way to go.

EDIT: Okay, so I was remembering that he tried plumbing the PCV into the IACV and that did not yield a happy ending.

So after he told me, I changed my underwear, and started thinking logically. There was no such behavior before I changed the housing. The turbo? Maybe the cartridge was leaking... But then I thought of something else- I piped the valve cover breathers back into the IACV hose to prevent me from venting crankcase to atmosphere. Um... Don't do that. We disconnected the breather feed hose from the IACV hose, plugged the resulting IACV hole, and did another run. No smoke.

Bottom line- Don't try to be "green" when running a monster like this. Any ideas as to what I should do with the breather hoses? Maybe plug into the oil/air separator at the PCV valve?

Not a good idea to go "pre" or "post" turbo on the IACV feed?

Re: Project: Mavro Gato - 99 Turbo'd 3L

Of note, I did find a quote of Dan suggesting the IACV remain post turbo!

But since he gave you different advice, perhaps he has changed his mind in light of his experience with the ADC kit. Dan?

Yes, that's the exact same thread I was reading before you replied: Did'ya ever have that "not fast enough" feeling? .82 A/R install... - his last comment on the last page.

Re: Project: Mavro Gato - 99 Turbo'd 3L

Who knows. I can see it both ways now. Damn- The IACV hose is after the intercooler, as the pics showed- But I can see it from Trevor's POV too. I never had trouble with the IACV, though. Lucky?

Oh, what to do?!

BTW: POST #1000!!!
